Well I just wanted to find out who all has taken apart their Toyota Mirrors to have them painted. I took the 3 screws out of the bottom to take the mirror and base apart. I also took off the harness so that I could take the wiring out also, but what I want to know is how do you take off the plastic end that is hidden from view while the mirrors are fliped out. Every set that I've seen painted people do not paint this, but I just don't want to brake them just to paint them. Please anyone could help me just post up. I can post up some pic's of what I'm talking about.
Well after talking to a few of the other toyo guys, and they just tape off that part. Mine are in primer right now. I can't wait for these things to be done.
i took them apart. the peice is just clipped. when i took them apart, i took the glass off (broke 1 tab but i had one spare) so you need to take the glass off bu pulling the buttom first. then you will see how to take the plastic peice off.
really easy. i also took the whole mechanism inside mirrors out! but i finally sold them because they were 4dr and i want 2dr!!!
I need to get mine painted....... AGAIN!!!! and they've never even made it on the car yet! still need that damn relay too!
