well i do not know what all you need. a partial list includes solenoids, poppers and a remote system.
The one tip i can give you is when you go to test out your locks and poppers for the first time.....LEAVE THE WINDOWS OPEN.....i have seen way too many posts form people who locked themselves out of the car becuase they didnt wire something properly

I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.

Hoping to bring this back to life!
I want to shave my door handles and locks on my 03 cavy...
No idea where to start... how to start... how they work... how you get in the car...
Any information would be GREAT!
I've done minor Fiberglassing/Body filling, but no welding, which I hear, is a practical must in this.

welding isnt a MUST but a thing that you REALLY want to do. its pretty basic, just wire it and connect it just like you think you would. i know alot of people actually leave the handles on for the first couple weeks after the selanoid is installed just incase something isnt right you can still open your doors the normal way.

^ Do you just copy and paste the same thing from every post?

To - GreenMachine - welding IS a must, unless you like re-glassing where you shaved your handles/locks.

Do not use fiberglass, body filler, or any combination of the 2 to shave your handles/locks. Everybody has an alcoholic uncle w/ a welder, just take him a 12 pack and 1 square foot of 20-22GA sheet metal and your done.

yes welding is a must. do not fiberglass and fill in the handles. it must be welded to be done correctly.

buy a spal kit either a 40lb or 50lb kit. it comes with directions on how to wire and install everything. my advice is wire and install everything, then just take it to a shop to have them weld a plate in where the handle is.

the way it works is on a remote, you press the button, the solenoid pulls the latch and the popper is what opens the door. even if your battery dies there should still be enough power to atleast pop open the door. if not you can always place a button some where on the outside of your car, say for example on the inside of the pinch weld. this way your never locked out.

there are a bunch of posts on shaving door handles and locks. most are recent within a few months. like the others have said, welding IS a must. i welded in a plate then layed some kitty hair and then some body filler. had them shaved for a couple months already. def get the spal 40lb or 50lb kit. it works great. a small tip though, before you install your poppers shut the door and test the kit without it. i didnt have to install my poppers and the kit opens the door atleast 2 inches , more than enough for me to get my hand in to open the door.

I NEED a 97-99 LD9 engine harness for an auto.PM if u hav info.!!

if the idea of a button under your car worries you that people will find it, you can either wire it to your alarm, or run a manual cable with a keyed lock. the cable would run through the door jamb and open the door, but would require a key to use.

i have a 4 door, and all four handles are shaved and the passenger side lock but unlike all of the suggestions i do not have a silanoid kit.

i took the door handle rod off the door handle and hooked it up to the door lock, so when you put your key in the lock and turn it, it unlatches the door. and before anyone says something about the factory key being weak and breaking, we had a set of apc security lock things, the ones that look like a drink machine key, that my dad got have to him a while back. we took the trunk lock and used it in the drivers door so it would self center again. i have been running this set up for about a year now and have never had a problem out of it. the only problem i have is having to open the other three doors from the inside, but i don't have power locks so i would have had to lean across to unlock them so i didn't think anything about that. yes i am goin to get the silanoid kit just don't have the money yet, i have a bad procastination problem. also the car is in primer. but i like that look. trunk lock is also shaved.
