Ok what you wanna do is hack off the door hinges, melt all metal smooth in teh fender well area with the tourch. THen weld the doors on at the 90 degree angle and your done Oh yeah 1st step put the gum in your mouth.

Seriously its cheaper to buy the kit instead of making your own. Unless you have access to a cnc maching and know how to design them.

when you take off the fender, do you need to remove the corner lights to take off the fenders on Cavaliers?

Ok cool thanks. Just bought a used VDI kit from a friend. I take it you need the friend to lift the door up once you mought the brackets and then add the shock correct? I am guessing that is the way. Cause it would be hell to try anything else it looks like.

the corner lights are attached to the fenders...

Yes you will need a 2nd person to lift the door in the air, and hold it in place while the other person installs the shock.

I installed my kit myself, but the shock would be impossible to do alone.

okok last question..lol.....i phoned soundspeedsport and they said I would need to cut of a little piece in my fender for the vertical door hinge to fit in proparly inside of the fender..is this true? i was looking at Izn Trbl-[ahys·in] [truhb·uhl] Link and there was nothing about cutting anything for the fender

The corner lights aren't attached to the fenders... at least not on that 2002. They simply clip onto the headlight. Regardless, you'll want to remove it.

i installed the drivers side door this morning...found a few problems with the install tho. When i went to extend the wires and try everything out, everything works perfectly except for the drivers side power door lock..it doesnt close or open when you press the pad. Another problem is that when I go to open the door, it hits across the fender and doesnt want to open the door, I have to move the door up a slight bit to open the door..can anyone help me out here with the fender problem and the wiring problem? greatly appreciated

Sounds like it's time to check everything over. Recheck your wiring, esp since your passenger side works. As for the fender problem, I'm not really following. When you go to open the door regularly it rubs the OUTSIDE of the fender? Like as it is pivoting inward?
