So I have probably read every thread on here about the bezel, and it is hard to find any good info/pics of it. I have a black '04 and have some '02 stock tails. I am just wanting to make sure I know how to install everything before I try it. If there is a write up or anything that would be great too, even though I know it's not that difficult. Any people have water leaks or any other problems at all when doing this? Any help/hints will be helpful and appreciated.
yeh i wouldnt think it would be to hard to do man.. just dont rush it.. take ur time with it..
unbolt ur stock stuff
clean surface really good for the tape(make sure surface is warm too, help it stick better)
and just push it on.. and apply pressure to it all the way across till its on good. do same for outter tail portains.. then once there set in nice and good put in ur tails.. u dont have to do the outter tail portains if u dont want(i dont think there needed unless u want).. id put teh tails in and see if looks better with or without it
my only prob was that it seemed a bit short on the bottom part of the tail when i switched to the stock 01
^Yeah I see what you mean. I definitely think it will look better with the outer carbon parts (I think you have to use them anyway to use older tails in order to fit). Maybe since RK started the new mold the problem is fixed now?
i have mine with toyo tails and i dind't use any adhesive, and i haev no leaks whatsoever
i thought they attached with double sided tape?
you can attach them with double sided tape, but my inner tails just hold it in place perfect
^Yeah that looks so good...
heres a couple pics

and one of my current car on the last nice day of the year
Looks so awesome guys; mine should be here next week hopefully, i will be getting black altezzas for mine.
I have a 98 sunfire sedan, so i will now be able to ditch my oem bezel, have a new cf bezel, and cavy tails now(cavfire) lol
What do you install first, tails, or the bezel? well most of you alreday have your tails in, where as i am putting cavy tails in because i have a sunfire sedan, not sure what to install first........

Make sure and tape off your key hole and paint it black before you do this. It will look so much better if you do this I think. If you want you can pull that clip from the back side that holds that key thing in place. Just a U shaped piece that you can pull out. Also if you really are worred about anything tryin' to leak just put db stick tape over all the holes just to be sure. Good luck.
anyone try putting the bow tie from the bezel onto the c/f?

Key hole on the lid you are saying to paint black so it will match better with the new cf bezel?
I was thinking about useing silicone and filling the holes just to be on the safe side so it wont leak.
Anyone know if the two way tape that comes with the bezel is alreday installed on the bezel for you, or do you have to position the two way tape yourself and attach to the bezel?

that's what i was thinking??
I got my bezel ordered last night from Karo...
My lock is color matched it was proffesinally done, then some of the paint came off after a year or two; so i just took the gm color matched little bottle of paint with the brush and did it myself; it does last for awhile and only takes 2 minutes to do, very easy; even if ya got to do it once a year, whats two minutes........

Well I understand that, but I think the little time it takes to redo it a few times over a few years is well worth it. Trust me on this. I've done some dumb things before that I have learned from, but this is something I would do.
I know it can be done but it just doesnt it like it very well. i talk to my lock and was like, hey you like paint, he said no f u! i was like man, see if you ever get a key in your slot again, i got the trunk release now bi otch
^^^^^^, lol.
Yeah i am going to just pick up some black touch up paint and make my lock black when i go to install the cf bezel; will paint the lock black when i take off my oem bezel.

Yea mine tried that too, but I told him that he was soon to be gone for good and the whole filled and painted. It hasn't said much since then.
