Carbon fiber invader or Carbon fiber evo for my white 05 Cavalier?
CavFire (tabs) aka tabasco wrote:which do you like better?
and i dont think ive seen the 03+ evo hood
Only thing that I can find is the generic Vis stock photo
I say Evo (if its available). Invader puts it too close to the throttle body, there might be a clearance issue (however since I don't have an Eco, I can't say 100
there was the kid with the 04 blue sedan and the cf evo hood....looked really goood, but i think he smashed that car and dosent post here anymore
Well doesnt that CaviGirl have the invader too?she had a blue 4dr.. then she bought RKSports old 2dr car and decked that one out from all the stuff she had on her 4dr.
here found a pic from a post she has in image mani
^^^ That is the Invader hood obviously, but it was through us, but made by Motorsport Depot (no longer in business).

You definiately need a kit to pull of the aggressive Evo hood.
Yeah I figured that a body kit is needed for a Evo hood, but I was wondering what everyone else thought. Also, I didnt know there was a clearence issue with the invader. I might just go with carbon fiber stock hood. Any more advise?
IMO, evo hood needs a kit to pull off the look

Yes it does. But if you have one it looks pretty damn nice if I do say so myself

i liked the evo much better before VIS made it and added those two vents on the side.
IMO dont get an OEM c/f hood. if youre going to pay that much $ for it, get something that has a style to it instead of something that looks like stock, only made from a different material.

What they said in the above post; get some curves and style son,lol...
I have an invader hood on my fire sedan and love it.
98 j-body sedan
My evo hood has larger than stock gaps between the hood and fenders, and the hood required pins because it was warped slightly and vibrated like crazy from the wind. There is also a small flaw in the weave.. just figured I'd let you know before you spend the money. If you are looking for something flawless and perfect you probably wont find it with the evo hood.. if you don't care about small stuff like that, then imo it is a great looking hood, and I'm happy with it.
I have never seen one on a stock cavalier, so I'm not sure how it would look.. I can't imagine it would look that great though because it doesn't really flow with the natural shape of the cavalier imo. I think it looks pretty good with a drift kit, and it would probably look devent with blitz, type-j, and maybe bomex.. something with a big mouth on it to coincide with the big vents in the evo hood.. but i'd inquire about getting a photoshop done in the image manipulation forum to see if it is really what you want.
here's my evo cf hood:

Does anyone make the Evo Hood (03-05) that's not CF?
And I agree, get the Invader hood if you don't plan on getting a kit.
A few guys around my area have that hood and they didn't have any clearance issues.

Ok.. ok I think I have made up my mind here. I will just get the invader hood around income tax time. Also, I would like to appreciate all the comments and opinions on this thread. You guys are great, thx.
