Silver Star life?
Wednesday, December 13, 2006 11:19 AM
I'm looking to get my GF some new bulbs for her 2000 Cavalier, and I've been researching here on this site. The majority of the threads/posts I've read are for the SS. I've had Silver Stars in the past, though and they kept blowing out every two months (latex gloves and cleaned the bulb with rubbing alcholol).

This may be different with the Cavalier compared to my Caprice, but what are you getting for a life span on the SS?

mine in my head lights are on the second or third year with no problems, but my silver stars in the fogs had a a lifespan of 2 mos but it ended up being my lenses getting to much moisture in there. So i dried them out resealed em with silicon and havent had a problem since that was 9 mos ago.

I bought some Euro Headlights at a local detailing shop. The guy who sold them to me said they would only last 2 months at the most and he was really pushing me to buy PIAAs. I am going on 14 months with these headlights and they are still working great.
