Thank you for taking your time at looking at this first off. Well my name is Jeremy Simonson, i've been in this community for a few months, not very many people know me, but i've been looking and wondering with some of the people that own companies threwout JBO, if i could possibly get a discounted product, i'm only 17 turning 18 in April this following year. The reason i'm asking for discounted items is because of a school project i'm doing that is called the SEP(senior exit project), the senior exit project consists of a paper, project, speech. I've already edited over my paper 20 times, also have re-writen it over 10, it consists of 11 Pages on how the Chevy Cavalier is the Sports Car of the Century. Well after the paper part now im onto the project part, i have around 3 to 4 months to do this, and am looking to excel into mobile electronics\ graphics for my career. I'm looking into turning my cavalier into a junkyard car into a show quality car, i've already done alot of looking around. Starting i went to my local autobody shop and found out that i can get a free paint job done, all i need to do is supply the paint, easy enough. We'll the tough part is now is to afford what im looking to buy. I am currently looking for a a blitz body kit, SS hood, double stacked wing, and shaved spoiler. We'll reality hit and telling me that a 17 year old can't afford all this even though i get paid around 8$ an hour. I could probly come up with around 1,000$, but not much more. If possible would be more then glad to just go with the body kit, hood, wing, yet i've already purchesed z3 fenders, and m3 mirrors...and new headliner, seats, carpet for interior and am creating my own custom box for inside, then fiberglassing it. If there is some possible way that you could direct me towards some people that i could possibly work with to make a deal. Once i finish this vehicle and trust me i will 100% positive, once i get out of school i work all the time. I would be willing to sponser anyone or refer anyone to the company that could help out or person.
Thank you for your time, help, and consideration,
Jeremy

You should really contact businesses directly with a well written letter.

Here, this helps

honestly.....if you have access to a shop and its tools and you have time, then make your own items. weld on a metal widebody or a metal scoop onto your stock hood. shave your spoiler or mold it in. work with what youve got an what you can get out of a junkyard for cheap or free. not only will your project be more unique, but it will be all your work and not just bolt on fiberglass pieces from some biz.

and if i can point out: you probably wont get anyone to help you out here. basically there is no reason for a business to hand you parts for your car. even if you say you are willing to refer people to their business, for the $ it would cost to send you stuff, they could actually advertise somewhere or give the parts to a known player in the show scene and get a much much higher return for their money. your best bet is to ask local shops.

good luck with it all man.

First your paper is on the Cavalier and how it is the sports car of the century, and now you figured out a Focus, Civic or Cobalt SS is... Uhhhh... Unless you are talking about the Civic Si, the Civic and Cobalt are no competition. The Focus and Civic are on a similar level, except for the Civic Si . . .

Nuts to this, I'm confused. No wonder why you wrote the paper 20 times, lol

Just buy my car and you have all you need except for that ugly wing. All you would need is the hood.

I would have went with a tC... not that I'm biased or anything LOL

Anyway, it sounds like you have good direction on your project, and I can see why being that (I'm guessing you have a Cavalier now) it's easier to write a paper on a Cavalier being the "Sports car of the century"... it'd be easier writing about that and doing work on the Cavalier would be easier than doing a project on a car you do not have... so that's good thinking there.

It seems you have a good direction and a good head on your shoulders, I wish I could help personally but all I did was auto body and paint, and I'm poor LOL... otherwise I'd try to hook you up.

However... I do know someone who owns an aftermarket auto business. I really don't know if anyone else on the site could/would step up to help out or not, but here's a proposal for you. Email me a copy of your paper (I can read files in Adobe Acrobat reader, Word, and Corel Word Perfect)... and I'll talk to him and see if there is anything he can do to help. I can't promise anything, but I can try.

Yes, idea that i've created is wanting to make my car from junk to beauity. Yes i have a cavalier, after seeing a "pimped" one, i fell in love, yet cobalt still takes my heart first =D. Anywho, i'm going to pick up my camera today from relatives house, so be awaiting a picture of what i have to do, i'll how some upcoming pictures of what i've done so far.

Which year Civic? I drove an 04 the other day (not an Si), and I wasn't all that impressed. The guy had a full cold air intake on it and the loudest exhaust you've ever heard (drove me nuts), but the interior wasn't that much better then the interior of my car. The seats were a lot better then the stock Cavy seats I'll admit, but the material of everything else wasn't that great. Like i said though, that was an 04. Unless you are talking about thw new Civic, cause I haven't been in one of those yet.

most small shops can't afford to give away free product, best they can usually do is give you a discount and asking on an internet forum post is about the worst way you can go about doing it. your best bet is to go to each company directly, and write up a written proposal. show each company that you are willing to put the effort in versus begging on a car website.

im sorry but if your looking for a show qualitly car, your looking at 1000s of dollars and no one is going to sponsor your right now. sorry but thats the way it is. no one sponsors someone with a bone stock car unless you've proved yourself before (i hate to throw names out but a few are Matt Teske, Ashley B., A. Dot, Bob Mull). Those people have proven they can win shows and have show quality cars and i bet they can get sponsored on a stock car based on their backgrounds alone.

You on the other hand are just starting out so you have to prove yourself first before your going to get sponsored. Im sorry but i doubt you are going to get sponsored by anyone.
