hello i would like to know how to remove the trunk badge the red thing between the taillights on my cavy 04 base sedan i have seen people have done this but i dont know how to do it i dont wanna ruin the paint
here some pics so you have an idea of what im talking about
stock car with badge
car shaved, without ugly badge
this car has the euro taillights
i wanna know i after remove the badge from my car, can i put this taillights on my 04 base sedan?
where can i get this euro tailights? i found some on the internet but all i found it says 95 to 2002
but i have ssen people with 02 + having this taillights
help me please
2 options. you can get a trunk lid from any 95-02 and slap it on, and replace the tails with 95-02 tails, or you could take your center reflector off, have the holes welded shut and re-painted, then put the 95-02 tails in.
or u could get the carbon fiber filler panel from RKSport and use 95-02 tails
bout ur only options
ok maybe the easy way is to get a trunk lid from 95 02 but where do i get one do you know a website where to get one? and how do i take trunk lid out? and put the 95-02 trunk lid in
what i was actuallt asking is how to remove the center reflector what tools shold i use, how should approach it thats what i wanna know
if u could answer this 2 questios it would be awesome
the center reflector should be bolted on. open your trunk and look on the backside of it to make sure, but you should only require a ratchet, socket, and extension. same thing to remove the trunk lid. 4 bolts hold it on the arms and youll have to remove the lock too but its all easy. lining it back up isnt themost fun, but youll get it.
no site other than something like ebay will have stock lids for you, so just go to a local junker and you might be able to color match your trunk while youre there. if you want an aftermarket trunk, check out www.aplusperformance.com as he can get the glass shaved lid from CGP or a VIS c/f trunk
Check out my CARDOMAIN page
I have the same kind of oem bezel on my 98 sedan, and you are right the oem ones are ugly; i am going with the rk sport cf bezel; like alot of people on here have, the reason we go with the cf bezel is because you need the bezel to cover the holes that are through your trunk; with out useing this bezel you will have to get a new trunk lid or have body work done to your existing lid wich wuill cost more then the cf bezel; and after this oem bezel is removed you can use any 95-02 cavy tail lights, and i believe you can use 02-05 outer tails, but not the inners.
Now for tails, you can go on e-bay and get lots of different styles of altezza cavy tails, black, fake cf, gunmetal, clear, chrome, etc.....
or you can get oem tails and spray them with night shades, or oem spray them with red foliac spray, or just oem.
Good luck.

Inner tails are integrated in the bezel. 00-02 are the equivalent w/ no bezel.
The RKSport bezel looks cool, but is over priced IMO. It doesn't even bolt on, it just sticks on. Just go with a 95-02 trunk and get some tails to go with it.
i removed my center piece and bought the older style tails and left the holes for now...but im just buying a cf trunk...IMO it looks better then the cf bezel and shaved trunk

ok everybody here talking about this rk sport cf bezel give me a link where to buy this thing i cant find it on www.rksport.com
ok so get this thing but before installing it i have to remove my stok bezel right
the thing i dont want a carbon fiber bezel i want something like this
thats what i want how do i do that, where to get a 95 02 trunk, on aplusperformance they have trunk lids but they are all shaved i want one that has the option to put inner taillights
so to put the 2002 euro tails you need no modification just to get inner lihts right?

1) Go to junkyard that has a trunk lid, 95-02 either sedan or coupe (its the same lid)
2) Have it painted to match
3) Install lights (no modification needed)
4) Enjoy
--or--
1) remove bezel from your trunk lid
2) have the holes welded shut and smoothed out
3) Paint to match
4) Install lights (you will have to preinstall the lights to find out which holes you need to retain and not weld shut)
5) Enjoy

Kardain has it exactly right.
I don't think you can buy it off of RK cause I remember someone saying it wasn't produced anymore. I think you have to check classified for it or other sites like aplusperformance and what not. I'm not 100% sure though.
If you are looking to do what is in that picture though, you don't need any bezel at all. Just go for a 95-02 trunk, and it paint matched to your car, and get any tail lights made for 95-02. You have many options; stock lights, black outs, Chrome altezza's, Toyota Cavalier lights (not a simple install). Pricing all depends on where you go, and what kind of quality the shop does. When I did my trunk swap I was able to nail a brand new factory trunk off of Ebay for $70 shipped. The shop paint matched it for $125. My altezza's I picked up for about $80. Like I said, that was what I found. You may find better prices. Your best bet though is to just go for an older trunk and have it paint matched. I had shop estimates to fix my 03-05 trunk anywhere from $300-$800 and that was for patching/welding the holes, all the labor and paint matching it.
thank you for answering so i guees ill just get myself a 95-02 trunk. exodus, is it really possible to get it from junkyard like kardain said, i only found 2 options there
trunk lid/ hatch
trunk lid/ hatch hinge
which one shoudl i choose exodus, kardian?
the tailights in that pic are APC Chrome Tail lights. which are the ones i want the only problem was that i didnt know how this guy installed 2002 tailights in a 2005 cavy untill you guys told me it was a converted trunk roght now it all makes sense thank u
one question lets say i paint match my new trunk lid and installed the taillights but later in the future i want paint my whole car lets say rally yellow, right now is orange
would the shop need to remove the tailights to paint that part maybe thats a stupid question but im a complete noob about customizing cars
Is ur car orange right now or blue like mine? IMO if its the stock orange that came on the cavis I wouldn't paint it that color is Sex-c!
Well if its blue like mine I'll buy the trunk lid from ya
Let me know

Trunk lid, hatch? You don't need the hatch technically. There are 4 bolts on the underside of the deck lid that you unbolt from the hatches to take off the entire deck lid. Then you just take off the bolts on yours to take off your trunk and the new trunk you buy bolts right onto that same hatch that your car already has.
Its entierly possible to find a trunk in a junk yard thats in good shape. If possible, try to find one that doesn't have a spoiler though, that way if you decide to put one on yourself, you don't have to pay to have the previous spoiler holes filled, etc. You could always call around (some junk yards have registrys with parts), or you could just go hopping around yourself and look. I know people who have gotten trunks from junk yards in great shape for as little as $30. Just depends where you go, and if you can talk a price down or what they want, etc.
If you are going for the chrome altezza lights, be prepared to get an onslaught of bulls*it from people. A lot of people do like them, but there are an entire fleet of people out there who will claim their ugly, your a ricer, you want attention, etc. Just telling you just so you know. If those are the lights you like and want, then go for it and screw what people say. It is afterall, your car.
If you go to a good body shop to get the car painted, they will have to remove the lights. In fact, they will have to remove many elements from your car if they do a good job. A good paint job for your car will run atleast $3000 or more if you go custom paint.

As mentioned, if you go with the 95-02 trunk, then all you need is the lid. The hinges are the same.
You also still have the option of the vis cf cavy trunk lid as well; it has the spot for the inners like you wantted; i want this trunk lid so bad but i could not bring my self to fork out more money for a trunk then i payed for my cf hood so i just went with the $200 cf bezel, lol still exspensive but what real cf aint these days.

ok instead of that rk blackboring rk bezel i think this owuld look better and chrome
chek this out
here is the link where to buy it nad theres a balck version too
what do you think of this one its for 03-05 cavys
link
Not my style, but to each I suppose.
You know, I was looking into those when i was changing my tail lights. At the time for me they were $350 w/shipping though and I thought that was absolutly ridiculous for tail lights. If you do like Altezza's and you don't want to go through the hassle of changing trunks and what not, this is a good idea to look into it. I haven't seen any Cavy's with these on physically, so it would be kinda new. These Altezza's look very similar to the Eclipse setup that was made (95-99), so if you liked that setup, this works too.
Yeah those chromed out altezzas dont look to bad, probally look mint om the right color j.
