My friend has 00 cavalier he needs to replace his front head bulbs, He taken apart everything that needs to be removed to acess the headlight bulbs, He has removed the black splash shield, The 2 bolts on each headlight on the top. The headlight assembly wont budge. I believe his car has had front end damage before, Ive even tried to use some force, Its like the more force you use will break the assembly, Only thing I could thing of is removing a few upper fender bolts, It should pop out.
Any Idea's?
well, i think it should pop out of the bracketry in the back, but u can remove that rear bracket all together with 3 or 4 bolts on the fender and radiatorsupport. should all come out as one
i took the pass. light off of my vert yesterday for the first time and i think it had been in a fender bender too because it didnt want to come out either. for some reason it was stuck in the bracket on the back of the light. i just had to wiggle it and pry up, but it came out. youre buds car shouldnt be too much different. and you really should break anything unless they somehow bolted the light into that bracket on the frame, but i cant imagine how or why that would be.

I didnt get much time to play around with it, I had to go to work. I noticed with the both sides are of headlights were pretty tight. Also is the side signal marker lens attached as well?. I noticed once the 2 upper bolts are undone, The headlight bracket is abled to move, Seems like its catching from the signal maker lights from each side.
the corners clip onto the actual headlight, then on the outer side(behind the corner) there is a pin like plastic piece that goes thru a fitted hole on that bracket. so that has to come out of its seating also to pull the assembly out

they are hard to get out on those years.
I am going to give my buddy a hand after work, I just dont want to break his headlight bracket on his car, I am pretty handy with mechanics, I'll see what I can do .

You have to remove the corner lights in order to lift up the headlights and pull them out. The corners just clip on to the headlight, you'll see the tab through a gap on the headlight bracket, before as those corner light clips tend to break when pushed too hard.
Simple as that.
Reply on my buddys 00 cavalier bulb replacement, Its all done, I noticed on the corner of the headlight unit, Has a plastlic clip that releases the headlight unit from the signal lens, Thanks for youre guys input.
it is quite agervating when i went to do my g/f's expecting it to be a 5 or less minute job
it only took me 5 mins, Some could be a pain, If the front end has been in a fender bender.
