toyota mirrors for cheap
hello all
2 weekends ago i had the unfortunate event of someone driving into my car at the bar...while i was still inside of course...
the drivers side toyota mirror is cracked on the outside housing and 3 chunks broke off (found them laying on the ground). with the 3 chunks placed back onto the housing it fits perfect. it still folds in and the mirror is still adjustable.
i know there are some good people out there with mad tight skills and that could fix it. (the one thing about it is the mirror is cracked....so a new mirror would have to replace it, either by sticking one on over it or getting a new mirror cut)
if you are either willing to help me out in the local area (michigan) i could pay ya to fix it, or if you want them i will sell them for cheap.
i will get pictures soon, i haven't put them on the computer yet...
my jdm has been compromised
i dunno if fiberglass would be best solution.. if u go to autozone u can buy a 2 part epoxy that will fix it perfect.. then u just sand down the excess sticking up and then shoot ur mirrors with red or u can use some semi gloss or something to make em look good again.. just take the chunks u have and put tape across it then set them in where they fell out.. then just take ur epoxy and put a couple spots of that stuff to sorta act like a tac weld when ur welding things.. thatll hold the peices in place for u to remove the tape and put the epoxy all away around..
Are the mirrors urethane? Or plastic. I used urethane filler on my lip i got from a bodyshop store, holds great and sands like body filler. I reckon you could use that on the mirror and get it like new. Dunno about the glass tho, I'm sure you can order a replacement lens
And I'm sorry your JDM was tampered with
^^ yeh i used the same urethane stuff. i was thinking of telling him about that too.. but it ran me $40 for two 5oz tubes.. and i still have some left lol.. But then i thought of the plastic epoxy stuf i saw at auto zone and figure thats cheaper and easy for him to use himself
Well if you got that way remember that the bottom of the mirror lifts up then you can pull out the mirror and then pull it down to get the glass out of the way.
its plastic...i believe...
its the same as the stock mirrors i think....
This stuff works great on hard plastics...
^^ exactly what i was talking about
thanks all for your help
i'm takin off the mirrors tomorrow and puttin the stockers back on
.....sad thing is, they are black, and not red (i gave them to a friend)
