Frozen Locks?

Just curious if anyone else experiences frozen locks when temperatures are right below zero. I mean like warmer then -10 Celsius.

I know when I had an '84 Mercury Cougar the locks rarely froze up on me or at least weren't frozen enough for the power door lock actuators not to function. However on the Cavalier it seems they freeze up every night and it doesn't always get that cold.

You guys think you got it tuff? I got my doors shaved down to the keys. Try holding the key turned back while trying to pry open your doors from your frozen door seals by nothing but the tops of the doors. LOL

Haha, thats exactly why I am not going to shave my doors lol. Sure it would look good but come winter time I would be screwed....Unless I left the rear seat down and went in through the trunk

Everything was frozen on my drivers door last week...had to get it on the passenger side and fold myself in half to get past the center consoles....finally got my door open by rolling down the window, pulling on both handles (inner and outer) and then throwing my shoulder into the door later that day...

I used to just punch on the top of the door all around until I broke the ice seal but, now I got vent shades in the way LOL

Here's the best way to prevent your locks from feezing... at least it works on my 90' Probe. Take a regular refridgerator magnet and cut it to fit the lock. Stick it on there before you park your car and no more frozen locks. I know I know it is an iffy thing to do, but if it works on my 18 year old car I don't care
