Shaving Side Moldings Question
Thursday, January 25, 2007 9:16 AM
I took off my side moldings, and there are holes where the clips were. I haven't taken off the door moldings yet though. Was just wondering if welding the holes first then sanding/bondo/painting would be the right way to do it. When I shaved my spoiler, I was able to get to the back of the holes, so I could patch them to make sure the bondo didn't crack, but on the side of the car, I can't reach the back of the holes...
Any ideas?

well....i believe there are holes on certain sunfires. like the GT and a few others. i think maybe the newer fires.

i would definately weld then fill, etc

if you just used body filler on the trunk holes, thats gonna crack out soon, just an FYI.

I didn't use just Bondo. I put some small sheet metal squares behind the holes, and my buddy tach welded it on, so I just filled it in over that.

So, weld the holes, and fill 'um. Will do.
