To Paint Or Not To Paint.... That Is the Question LOL
Wednesday, January 24, 2007 8:51 AM
Hey I just put some 17s on my Cavi. And I noticed my rear breaks(drums ) are lookin a little rusty..... So should I paint them blue? I wanted to paint my calipers too so what should I do paint the front not the back or none at all? I don't want it to look "ricey".

Any input would be great

IMHO, drum brakes should only be painted black

I'd paint black all around -- which cleans them up and makes them less obvious at the same time. A color like blue would start to look ricey, if anything.

agreed. it looks stupid to draw attention to drums and stock calipers. it also looks tacky

Use a HIGH TEMP paint or the paint made for BRAKE DRUMS and CALIPERS, I painted mine a year ago and still looks ok.

I used a kit manufactured by Duplicolor to brush on black for my brakes.

i painted mine a dark green and looks good. cant really tell its green until you come up close on it, otherwise it looks black. id say paint it blue and be different. i like colors.
