New car on the way need help with headlight wirring
Sunday, January 28, 2007 7:47 PM
I currently have a 97 cavalier and it's almost dead getting rid of it soon. I just bought a 2002 sunfire with some front end damage and I plan on swapping the front end of my cavalier to the sunfire. The only thing I think i'll have a problem with is the headlight wirring. On the sunfire i'll have the one headlight bulb and I'll need to be going to 2 bulbs. Can anyone make up a diagram showing me how to accomplish this? I've spent a good 2 hours looking for posts and found some from 03-04 with some info but no diagrams or instruction on how to do it. Any help is appreciated.

Just match up the wires and splice together...

The positive wire on the Fire harness will need to be spliced to both pos wires on the Cav headlights.

or get the newer style (00-02) lamps with the single head light bulb. that should work with little modification.

Aren't those headlights slightly bigger? Wouldn't it look a little off with my 95-99 bumper?

you might have to search, but I believe others have done this. I have an '05, so I haven't looked much into it, just bits I've picked up from being on this site.
