Hey all...Just wondering if you all have heard anything about this.
I have tried searching high and low trying to figure out and find some info on my 01 cavvy that came in the trim you see here.
note GT emblems on seats...
However performance wise... Its just a plain ole 2.2l Cavalier.
Now I was driving through a parking lot the other day and happened to see the rear end of another 00-02 cavalier with the same GT emblems on it and the SAME bodykit as mine. It was just in red. I knew this was'nt a fluke when I saw a third 03-05 cavalier in blue at a dealer as a used vehicle with the GT emblems and a bodykit as well as one also in the same blue same year driving around up by my school.
So...I'm beginning to think maybe this was a dealer installed option or possible GM produced a few of these if some other people on these MB's have one of these "cavalier GT's"
Any and all info is appreciated...I really would like to pull off the stickers this spring with the moldings but I need to know if this is some one off guy slapping stickers and bodykits on cars and calling it a day or is it going to be tough to get the damn things off because it was a dealer install job and likely done more correctly then wrongly.
Thanks for all info in advance!

Correct. Not a bad looking kit though for a dealer option.
I like it.
Looks like it's a razzi kit.

yeah it is a razzi kit not bad either but just another thing the dealer can throw on to jack up the price
yup, and you probably paid quite a bit extra for some leftover decals and a body kit that a dealership threw on in a few minutes.
Not surprising. A dealer in my area did a bogus RS package -- consisting of 15" wheels, spoiler, and fancy decals as seen in the pic below. Not surprisingly, it also had the 2.2.

I do not remember what years but a cavalier RS was a real package from GM. I want to say in the 95-99 range.

I've seen that too, but it seems like it was maybe only an American offering (I'm in Canada), and it seems like they all had graphite bumpers (ugly!). I could be wrong on this. In any case, I've learned from an employee at that dealership that this was their own package.

Looks like the dealer really cheaped out on you, because for a while there those quarter panel slats decal you have there were actual mouldings you could buy from the GM accessories department.
Kind of reminds me of the Cavi Rally Sport too. Gotta love dealer rice. Although I think the Cavis that came with the SS stripes towards the end of production kinda looked good.
Yes, there was a real package called the Rally Sport Package from GM. As stated above, I believe it was produced between 95-99. My 04 is supposedly an SS, but we all know better than that. And there was no way I was paying out of my a$$ for a kit and wheels, so I had to talk them down in price.
Damn, I like the front and the rear on the "GT" alot, the sides...ehh. One thing I can't stand are the dealer Z22's.....posers
if the front was molded, and the sides were Similar to the Type J or Bomex, it would be alot better.
However the rear is perfect.
...
i wish my dealership would of thrown on a body kit for me. :/

Yea I bought this used with 47k on it for around 6800 with a two year powertrain warrenty. Had to talk them down from over 12 all day to land it but in the end we did.
Hell of a car for the price.
Still miss my 98 F-body though....
