hey all where is a good place to buy paint. my buddys dad is gonna paint my car and all i have to pay for is the paint. he has a paintbooth at his house and does it on the side. so it isnt like a body shop where he already has the paint. what all do i need to order for a complete paint job?
why not ask his dad what HE wants you to buy since HE is painting the car?? We're not going to be able to tell you because there's a lot of vital information you've left out.
And personally, if someone wanted me to paint their car and they just bought paint without discussing it with me first on what the desired outcome is or what types of paint I prefer, I'd be kinda upset about it.
I hope that didn't sound like I was being a biotch, I just woke up so my brain isn't fully functioning... haven't been sleeping well lately
yup ask the painter not us, if ya bought lets say spies hecker, i or course i perfer PPG i would tell ya to go get PPG
see what iam sayin
can i haz bondo
ya thanks could u please tell me what all is needed as far as the paint im overseas so its not to easy to call but ill try
Is your car going to be painted while you're still overseas?? And none of us can really tell you anything at all unless we know what you're doing exactly.
Your best bet is calling your painter and asking him/her (for the sake of argument, I'm going to assume it's a he, since there's very few chicks painting cars). Your painter will know what he wants and needs you to get. For example, if he already has a stockpile of reducer and lacquer thinner and stuff... you won't need to get that so you'll be wasting money. Does he have all the other materials he needs like sandpaper, tape, paper, etc?
We don't know that information, which is why if you can your best bet is either emailing/calling/IMing your painter.
