I want to get a pair of them and i found them on E bay for 180$ from Japan but i want to know if they will work on a 2001? I know this topic has most likely been brought up in past topics but im new and missed those. Does anyone have these on a 2000-2002 Cavalier? Also if anyone has a set of these that they will sell to me cheaper reply to me ASAP because i want to get these before someone else does!
Toyota tails are for all years.. Just the 95-99 model is diffent than the 00+ one because of the color lens. As long as you have the tail harness your good to go. Also there might be a write up on here you just have to search it.
Is the Toyota Tail harness any different than the Chevy one? like do you think it would be a direct plug and play bolt on deal?
you have to redo some wiring. search how to: toyota cavalier taillights................... or something of the sort. there IS a writeup around here somewhere.
ok great thanks. i also found the part #s for the 2000+ taillights and the only thing different is the outer pieces so im going to try to go to the chevy dealer and pick those up, instead of buying the older 1995-99 lights. now all i need to worry about is the wiring and im golden. thanks for the help bros!
Going thru GM is going to cost more.. Their's someone on the exterior classified section selling "Y2K Toyo tails" thats the name its under. I believe it 150+ s&h hope that helps you
95-99 look sooooo much better espically on darker colored cars

the 2k's look great on orange...

yeah im going to get them off GM parts direct and just the outer lenses because the inners are the same. just the outers are going to be 130$ and those are brand new. im more the type that would spend a bit more to get a new product than to save some money and buy used and not know what your getting.
and Bubba i saw those and was considering getting those until i found out GM parts direct had them but thank you for bringing that up!
and touche to you Kardain i needed that how to. ive been looking everywhere for a wiring how to. i was going to cut every wire and play around until i found the right combo to get it all working. Thanks a mil!
They're mine that's is/was for $150.
I usually paint them to match the car color.
Didn't do that this time, but guess it doesn't matter now.
They are not that difficult to wire up.
www.ny-jbodies.org should have the wire diagrams.
Have fun
Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
just a fyi
the inner lenses are NOT the same
^he's right.
The inners are out lined with black, have a darker red and a more clear reverse.
...
yeah on the 95- 99 tail they are different, but on the 2000+?
yup. alot different on the 00-02's.

best pic I have for the 2000 (besides what's in the how-to)
well no @!#$!!!! they are different. is that painted red around the acual light? so its like the whole light isnt a reflector like on the usdm lights. meaning for example when your driving behind a cav at night you see the whole tail light when your headlights are on it because the whole tail light is a reflector except where the light comes out from. but on these there is no reflector because its all painted except for where the light comes out of. the only reflector part is the half circle above the reverse and part of the brake light? am i correct?
Correct. Blurry pic, but it shows where the reflector is on the 2000 lights...
damn those are sick! im going to score me a set! and nightshade them.... yeah i know i would be covering over them and the novelty will be lost, but 99.9% of america wouldnt even notice the difference if i left them as is.
by the way thanks for your help Kardain
i agree, unless people know what you got, no one gives a second glance, i know, had my 2ks for 3ish years now and not one "townie" with a cav has asked about em.
oh well
just have one question. I have an 03 cavie. And i was wondering where to purchase a set of toy tails for it. I am planning on somewhat converting it to look like the jdm version. If someone could. would be great.
