ok, i'm considering getting tinted windows, and have a few "stops in the road" if you will....
first, i live in WI and the legal limit is 35%....
i went to a local tint shop that i've seen their work, and it looks good....and 35% didnt really look all that tinted to me....
the guy said that it usually looks darker when its on the car because the interior is usually darker then the white wall it was hanging on
so, i dont know what % to get, cuz when i went to court, there were a few people who had tickets for that...
i'm thinking about getting 15% on the rear window, and rear doors, and 35% on the front doors and window...
does anyone have pics of their windows tinted....and what tint % do you have......thanks!!!
just do 30% all the way around and the tint guy is right. its darker on the car. i myself have 20. and i love it.
17% all around and it matches my black car pretty well, but I can't see a thing out my windows at night
see, your front window doesnt look like its 17%.....
and i deff wanna be able to see out of my windows.....
and the shop that i'm looking at right now only offers 5%, 15% 35%, and 50%...... and the guy said it would be about 165$
he also offers different styles, like jet black, and some other stuff, but i will go with jet black for sure
i'm also going to try and find other places, and see what they cost
My front window isn't tinted except for the 5" strip at the top which is still 17%. There's a lot more pics on my cardomain btw.
35% all around on my G5. With the interior it appears dark but it's easy to see out of at night.

hmmm....well, the cop that i talked to didnt say anything about not having the front windows tinted, nor did the guy at the tint shop...
and my friend has his front windows tinted....

i've been rollin' around with 15% for about a year now in WI. and i've been pulled over within' that year! i love 15% and wouldn't do anything else. u gotta figure on a real sunny day, that a35% is gonna look like poo or it'll barely look like its tinted. trust me, i've had 35% before.
go 15%!

where did you have it done?? and how much was it??
i'm going to see if i can find other places that are cheaper with more choices for %
you get your front windshield tinted here in tx, at 35% pending you have a perscription that says that you cant be exposed to the sun for long periods of time. but you have keep proof from a dermotoligst, but it can be done.
20% on the bird...couldnt see inside, but was still perfectly clear to see out at night...

legally you can only tint to the AS-1 line on the windshield, or 5 inches from the top of the window based on local laws. From what I have seen so far, our windshields don't have an AS-1 line because of the windshield's angle and driver's viewing angle through the window. Windshields with an AS-1have in printed on the window itself or usually have the factory tint strip going across already. Most people wouldn't even know otherwise as long as it is a reasonable strip and not tinting almost the entire window, like how I have seen done sometimes.
im having 20% on the rear and 40% on my fronts and nothing on the windshield
boost is like ice cream, there's always room for it
i Got 17%, ang got 2 tickets on 1 stop 60$ each window, only happened once.
Front window is a NO-NO
and i got my tint job for $140 cheapest i could find and an execellent job.
you should definetly look for another place that can offer 140

I've had a couple of different tint jobs, which makes for an easy comparison.
35% on sides and rear windows. Of course, the bright snow in the background makes it look a bit lighter. This was a DIY job that sucked so bad that I tore it off before it became semi-permanent.
20% on sides and rear, done by someone more skilled than me. I thought 20% up front would be too dark for the cops here in Ontario, but the guy thought it would be ok.
