So this ugly thing looks pretty useless to me so I'm trying to get rid of it
but these 2 things are stopping me. the bottom one is plastic so i figured i can just rip it off but the top one is metal.
what the heck kind of bolt is this? I have never seen it before.
any suggestions?
im told the radiotr shroud is important in brining up air to the radiator.
but hey its your car/head gasket
those are rivets, drill them out
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

haha, sorry that made me laugh
as for getting em out just like said above get a drill bit just a tad bigger then the hole and drill it till the head seperates from the rivet and it should pull off.. Also like said i do beleive it plays a role in directing air to the radiator.. i dont think theyd just waste a strip of plastic and put it there for no reason.. get a lip kit or a body kit and thatll hide it also.
Yea its deffinatly not useless. Some people without it and decided to put on a body kit experienced the engine over heating. Yup ugly, but provides a purpose.
That piece is there to help direct air up into the radiator while going at slower speeds. Remove it at your own risk.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

I tore mine off one winter while going off the road... Didn't seem to affect anything over the past summer. When it was hotter than hell, car still ran as warm as it did b4 on those hot days and just fine on the high way.
Sorry, to bring up old posts, but if it is important for the radiator staying cool, then why is one on the rear of my 94 as well? whats the purpose of that one, before I go and screw things up......lol
I don't know j-body's yet........but I will!
I just realized this thread has exactly the same subject as
the thread I posted one day later. Sorry for that. I just wouldn't have thought to look for "plastic under bumper".
Seems like we both got the same answer anyways.

id say keep it on once you get a lip or body kit on it it'll hide it but it dose driect air to the rad. I ran over a curb with my sunfire b4 and it ripped it off 3 weeks later head went. It's up to you if you want it off but it dose serve a purpose.
