Ok I guess this is kinda an exterior thing so I'll ask it here, does anyone know how or even IF it is possible to polish the fuel rail on my eco?

so how did you go about doing it? i was thinking of using a dremel with a polishing head and polishing compound but it just turns darker as it sjines i can't seem to get all the black out of it.

take if out of the car and clean it thouroughly on the outside.

Get a ton of grits of sandpaper.

Not sure what you should start with but you should end with 2000
For curb rash I do:
400
600
800
1000
1500
2000
-polish

Polish is your absolute last step, I'd guess you could probably start with 600, but hopefully someone else will chime in here.

can you polish it up without going through all the sanding?

No. Sand, then sand, then sand, then polish.
You may get it to look a little better with just polish, but it's not going to shine.
