Hey. I just want to know what do I need to do to replace them with cavy skirts!!! Right now I removed the driver's side skirt and I'm wondering if the black thingy must stay there in order to install another OEM skirt!! People who removed those skirts will know what is the black ''support'' thingy. I can have the holes fixed for cheap (sister's husband do a lot of body works), but I'm wondering what's involved in replacing those things with only lower part like on the cavy!!! Thanks for your help!!
well youll also have to take off the door peice to it will look goofy with out the fire skirts. shave all the hole that the clips were in. then then oem cav skirt has i believe 5 white clips that go into the rocker panel (part under the door between the rear fender(quarter)and front fender) i has been a while since i had my oem ones one got a body kit on. and two one in each wheel well self tapping screws . and screws under the peice two check the pic ull see what i mean. hope this helps.
Here's a pic of the car right now!!!
On the pic you can see the black ''support'' right under the door!! From the pics I saw of different cavys, I think I need to remove it!!! Since it's not bolted, I need to drill the [Insert missing word here] (I really hate when I don't know the correct word in english....)
It's called pop rivet, but I don't know the translation... but you probably know what I'm talking about! I really just need to know if those supports must go, if so then I'm going to remove them before I get the skirts... Thanks!!!
im thinking that piece has to go...not positive, but i know our cavs dont have it.
and make sure you have the holes welded shut, not filled
Why exactly are you doing this? I think the sunfire sides look better than the cavalier side skirts, plus it flows with the front and rear bumper better.
^ I found a place where they sell fenders for 25$, bumper for 50$, etc.. so there's a good chance I'm doing the cavy front conversion!!!
