just wondering if anyone knows the specific color of my car or a place where i can find out. its a 99 Z24 and its factory red. not the maroon red but the red. i just wanted to spray the side mirrors and door handle the same color. i called a GM dealer and they said you can somehow find it on the VIN number? but on the car manual i have for it, it doesnt say anything about a letter/number code for colors. thanks in advanced.
the colour code is part of the build code, its on the backside (non carpeted) of your spare tire cover, there's a little decal that has a series of three-letter codes on it. from that, the colour can be decoded. the dealer COULD pull up the specific build of your car with the vin, which may give you the exact name of the paint.

It's probably Victory Red. If you ever service it at the dealer, it might say on one of the service invoices. Mine even gives the colour code.
look up that code and Autozone can tell you then buy the Duplicolor paint
