So here I was, in the final stages of getting the car running... For my life's worth I couldn't get the power steering pump bolt to thread into the hole on the pump itself (later discovered it had to do with my engine being raised slightly with a jack, as the top engine mount is disconnected.) Anyways, as I'm about to give up and just pull the bolt out and try again the next day... it slips out of the needlenose pliers (tight squeeze, if you've had to take it out you know what I mean), and *clink *clink *clink*... my heart sinks. I searched for a total of over two hours, can't find it. So today I got a flexible inspection mirror, and another bolt (gonna have to trim it a bit), as I know the bolt I originally lost will never be found again... lol.
Anyone else have stories of lost nuts/bolts/accessories?

I dropped a bolt down throttle body once, never saw it again.LOL
ive lost almost everybolt that ive ever pulled out... 2 headlight bolts. couple battery connections, couple fender bolts... my headlights are each held on by 1 bolt.. im gonna get 2 more soon tho..
I lost a 4-in-1 screwdriver when changing the front clip on the Sunbird...I have a picture of the last time I saw it, never saw it again afterwards...
I also had a 7 pound bag full of miscellaneous screws, nuts and bolts that I had left over after working on the Sunbird through the 4 years I owned it...

I sold a car with tools still under the hood because I could never get to them.
...
I've only lost interior bolts, I am very careful with bolts when I am under the hood.
