Just a simple question, I know that to disable the DRL's you have to find the BCM and cut the dark blue wire, what if I was just to cut it, and leave it without grounding it, etc. as the write up says. Will this still be ok? I think, the DRL's will be gone, but the check engine light will remain on. Is that correct? Or do I need to follow the procedure exactly, and risk messing something up if I dont do the rest of the steps?
Can someone please help with a quick answer.
Thank you.
Headlights won't function normally if its not grounded.
I am kind of lost, so the blue wire you cut, and your ground the one end with the splice connector, but what happens to the other side of the blue wire, we just leave it cut and thats it?
Also, do I need a splice connector to ground the blue wire, can I not just attached another wire to the blue wire, and run it straight to the ground somewhere with the loop and leave the splice connector out?
Someone please help (sorry for the trouble)

Exactly.
When you cut the blue wire, you run the BCM side of that to a ground. Find some scrap wire, a ring terminal and a butt connector. Use the butt connector to attach the scrap wire to the BCM side of the ground, then the ring terminal on the other end of that scrap wire. You can then run it to a ground (the obd2 port at the bottom of the dash works, use one of the bolts).

I did this yesterday.. but havent actually grounded it yet. To answer ur question u just get a service light.. and when the DRL's are FIRST engaged when starting the car they flicker 4 times.. thats all. But im having a problem finding a butt connecter to fit the dark blue wire. Is it a 14 guage?
blue one will work (14-16g)
thanks,.. that was my problem.. i have a red butt connector lol......oh.. im having a hard time stripping that blue wire
wait.. what guage wire is that little blue wire? 20? 22? its damn small
Gm rarely used 20-22g wire... it doesn't handle a load well.
Probably 18g at the minimum.
i just attached a wire with solder and electrical tape. No need for a butt connector.

exaclty..thats what i thought..the connection type/way doesnt matter, as long as that wire is not getting grounded somewhere right?
i hope it works, I will try on the weekend, need my HID's to work properly for once!!!
Getting to the BCM module and actually getting to the wires is harder then I thought, any tricks or tips from anyone?
Do I actually have to disconnect the module, or can I just find the blue wire and cut it.?
lay on ur back flat and put or feet on ur seet and get a flashlight soo u can see also leave more wire than the directions say cuz it will be a pita to get the splice connector on...............and yes u have to disconnect the blue plug..it just makes it wayyyy easier.
cool thank you..will try again tomorrow..yea was VERY hard working under there..the pics make it seem so easy.haha
the directions are simple..working under the car is hard....
So I finally did it, after struggling for hours under the car (and it is alot harder then it seems, well on my 05 Cavi it was), I managed to do it, and it works perfect.
Thank you all for your help.
Why not just pull out the seat... it's 4 bolts, then you would have had lots of room.

yea im stupid..i thought of that...but didnt do it..was a back breaker..but its done..I couldnt even get the wire part to slide out, did it all while the module was fully plugged
