95-99Z24 rear bumper cover on 00-02 cav

Hey all! I was wondering if there is anything that has to be done to put the 95-99 Z24 rear bumper cover on a 01 Cavalier? I know that I need the filler panels as well. Will it just go right in place without any sort of modification? I was hoping to search the junkyard for a Z rear and side skirts.

^^common mike i know you should know better...
If your 00-02 rear bumper has the filler panels attached to the actual bumper, you will need some filler panels.

You will need the z24 crushguard, its a styrofoam piece held in by 6 big push pins. push pins are those same little pins that hold your radiator cover in, or the 4 across teh top of your front bumper. If you still dont know what i'm talking about.. well its like a plastic rivet but there is a pin that goes in the middle of them, u pull the iddle pin up and then the whole "rivet" part will come out. once all 6 are out the crushguard just pulls(may fall) off

also, for the styrofoam crushguard u may need to drill out the holes it uses. i know when i put this 99 base crushguard on my z24 i had to open up the holes it used, i dont know if you will have to.

Also i dont know if 00+ bumpers are, but the 95-99 base and z24 bumpers have a bottom piece that uses the smaller push pins(the size of the onesholding the top of your bumper on) to hold the bottom to the bottom of rebar as well.

and.. to clear this up which i doubt itll stop the hundreds of these posts. any 95-05 cavalier bumper, will fit on any 95-05 cavalier.. They are all the same unibody, all the parts have been made to attach to the same unibody, just might be using different locations of bolting on etc.. why is it so hard for people to understand?

also your lucky, im so annoyed with where most of these forums have gone i dont even go into em anymore.. i just happened to be in here checking on my sticky since i got a email reply thing.

well the 00z rear i have didnt have the filler panels attached to them. i thought only the 03-05s have the panels attached to them. as far as the crush guard goes, i dont have them on my car so i guess thats why i never noticed that.
