i used black vinyl dye from wal mart. i think it was duplicolor. worked great. just be sure to wash it and put some alcohol to try and get any oils or other stuff off prior to messing with it.

if you plan on doing something like vinyl seats, use SEM vinyl dye (and SEM vinyl prep). i just made my white vert seats black with SEM and WOW they look damned good. if my camera ever decides to work i'll get pics.

When I did the dashboard on the Sunbird, I sprayed it with water and rubbed it in, to clean out the dust and soften the material (was hard as a rock from years of direct sunlight) then I just sprayed on the Duplicolor...lasted longer than the car!

lucky you--my camera decided to work

here is the boot originally:

here is the boot after (using duplicolor dye):

here are the seats before:

here are the seats after (using SEM dye):

dying was easy as pie. just remember to clean first. PM or IM me if you have any questions about it.

if you have any decent junkers around your area, just check in and see if you can find any convertible seats. these came from a junker in IN about two years ago and i got the whole set for $80. they cleaned up really nice and were white from the time i got them until about two weeks ago.

good luck

convertibles are the only Js that came with this vinyl option. some were white, some tan, and ive heard that there were even a few black from the factory, but ive never even seen pics of those. i believe the 20nd and 3rd gens were the only ones with this option, but that they are all interchangeable (or are at least the same size).

good luck

They only came in Sunfires, Cavies never had the vinyl option unless it was special order.

i believe it was an option on the cavs too, although a more rare one than on the sunfires. ive seen a few bone stock 95+ cav verts on ebay and they had the matching armrests in the same material as the seats---just like with the fires' option

here is one on ebay

damn......this interior uses more colors than most ricer newbs do!

yeah, if only it was even close to flowing. white seats, graphite dash, tan carpet, and another color tan under the dash/console? NONE of that goes together, much less with teal (ugh i hate that GM color too)

and no...my car is manta green my sig is just lighter than it should be
