I have a question i know you guys don't like post from people wanting to know how to do things and i should just take it to a shop and all that but i really don't want to.
My problem is that i have a cut / gouge in my front bumper and i am trying to fix it, got some stuff from the store supposed to be like a body fill but for plastic. Have any of you ever used anything like this or is there anything that can be done to repair holes in the plastic bumper?
I plan on patching it up and sanding ect. then using the exact match paint. I know it won't look great but i just don't want a big hole in my bumper. as long as its the same colour ect then its fine. i will never have it painted by a pro if i was going to do that i'd buy a new bumper which i will do eventually but in the meantime i just don't want it looking like hell. If anyone could give me some advice on how to fix this it would be great if not thats ok. I know its not the proper way to do it but i have my bumper painted with a spray can now and its been fine for a year, not showing it or anything so not worried about that, just want it too look like i painted the bumper myself not hey theres a hole in that dudes car.
really depends. how big of a hole are we talking about here? got a pic possibly
sent you an email, not sure how to post pics, its about an inch wide and maybe 5 or 6 long cut.
i emailed back. but there was no pic in the mail, lol
but that sounds like a pretty big hole. that could be pretty tough
if the "hole" or "gouge" is as big as you say... the only durable fix is going to have to be done by someone who has the training to know what they're doing... sorry. SImply filling in a hole that big even with a "urethane" type compound is most likely not going to hold up very well.
yeah i'm not too worried if it doesn't hold up that well, just need it to get by. anything is better than what it is now. ha ha filled it with glue but it looks pretty bad but at least its the same colour till i get it fixed a bit better.
