is it just me or is there a large percentage of sunfires that have a gas door that is pushed in? ive seen a ton of them and both of the fires that i have owned had this. is there a easy way to fix it?
happens on cavs alot too. its the latch/nipple that gets weak over time. we used to spend 5 minutes trying to open the gas door on my girls cav. we ended up using a key to open it regularly, lol.
i even tried bending the gas door blocker latch thing(technical term, lol). only worked for a short period of time.
best solution, go to a junk yard and find the little piece off a cav that still has pressure behind it
ive found also that the tab on the gas door is bent toward the plastic pushy thingy (also another technical term hehe) to much and needs to be bent away from the pushy thing. this cured my problem at least. my gas door fits nicely now and it still stay shut. i also used to have a hard time opening my gas door and used a key till that side of my car got repainted. so i stoped doing that.

thats how i open mine now ! haha it looks really ghetto when im at the gas station. people probably think im just dumb and can't open my gas door. when i first got the car i thought there was supposed to be a latch inside the car like the one for the trunk, but i wasnt lucky enough for that. so now i resort to the backdoor key to my house that i never use. its changed from the backdoor key to the gas door key.
