I need a little info and/or help. I have two dents on the rear driver's side panel that I need to fix, but I don't really want to take it to a shop unless I really ahve...considering its only two dents. Now my question is what can I use to remove the dents? And how?
heres a coser shot of the big dent
I want to get them out before I get the car repainted for tha J-body meet down in Texas. I'm kind of new at body work so bare with me although my dad knows what to do so he'll be helping me.
no more cavy...now 240 =]
I see a cool-air intake
It's got a NOS-fogger system and a T-4 turbo
I see an A.I.C. controller
It has direct port nitrous injection
Yeah, a stand-alone fuel management system
...Not a bad way to spend $10,000
a buddy of mine at work had a cavy with dents just like that, I went to meijer (wal-mart would prolly have it too) and they have bright orange glass holder/ dent pullers. You suction it on a flat spot and just yank it out carefully. Then if theres little dings dry ice works pretty good.
That will require more than a suction/glue style puller, lol

seriously if your not comfortable with bodywork/dent repair dont even bother on that one..specially with a black car.....Basic practice thogh youd be to get most the dent pushed out and then use a stud gun and pull the rest out..more hen likely the metal has been streched though and youll have to shrink it...so basically take it to a shop..phil
Those dents are too big/complicated to pull for someone with no experience. Save yourself the time and trouble and just take it to a shop. That is certainly not a "beginner"'s level project.
i've found the suction based style works better on large dents. Certainly not a shop finish but better than the current.

A suction based puller is not going to help with those... there's creases in them

i totally agree here, someone backed in to my 1/4 panel at WAL-MART. it wasn't as bad, but because the damage was at the edge of the wheel well it had to be filled. the shop pulled most of it out then filled it with a thin layer of body filler and painted it.
the smaller dent is you pics is pretty close to what i had. you will need to have them pulled out then repaired with filler. if your totally against filler you can replace the 1/4 panel, but thats big$$$

You got to be kidding me lol. When I saw the topic I thought that it would be 2 small like door dings. You have way more then a dent there lol.
Well there is nothing that will fix that but straight up body work. You can push it out from the back of it by taking out your interior but you will still definately see it.
Best thing to do is to have the quarter replaced. The out come will be the better than fixing it depending on where you go.
What happens when a dent occurs is that the molecules in the metal expand stretching the metal. So even if you push out on it, it will still be warped looking because the metal is too big now. This is not something the basic Joe Schmoe can fix.
And just so you know, none of those suction cups and a glues actually work. They are all a joke. You spend money to get these things just so you can glue something to your paint and pull on it and it still won't look right. If you wanted to get it too look better than just take the time to get behind it and push. It still won't look right but you still don't have to pay for glue or a suction cup. LOL.
My profesional advice is to have it repaired. It is something that is very fixable, won't total the car out if repaired and won't compromise the factory welds. There are many procedures that I-CAR states for the welding in of quarter panels to prevent rust but none of them messure up to the factory welds.
