hey guys quick lil question.
im working on my bodykit and ive found two issues
its a type j eurathane kit and so far ive only had these problems
the front bumper sits higher on the drivers side by about 1/4" and lower on the passengers side. i dont know how to bring the passenger side up... any ideas?
and then the rear bumper has a wave in the middle... how would i go about bracing something to the hidden side of the bumper to straighten it out?
im gonna go snap some pictures... will post later
front bumper - tighten the bolts up all the way that are behind the corner lenses
rear bumper - use L brackets under the bumper

(the bolts are all the way tightened) i tried loosening one and tightening the other as well... no luck

would i attach the L brackets to the frame? obviously it seems like a bad idea to drill into the bumper
to the bumper support. as far as the front goes, i thought you were talking about it not being level in the wheel wells. do you have the crush guard on the front still
yes the crush guard is there, however i cut it back far enough that it clears the bumper by 1/2" should i try some more cutting? i would like to leave it on there so i have some protection in case of an accident.. though i try to avoid them as best i can, anything is possible... ill recheck the clearance on that guard today
my buddy's got the rksport kit and his back has looked like that for awhile. we tried everything and so didn't the body shop when he got it painted but no luck.
for the front alignment, looking at the headlights the bumper is aligned, unless the lights aren't aligned properly. the driver side corner of the hood could be bent in just a tad making it look that way. thats just how it all looks to me anyway. hope you get it all worked out

so theres no fix? i was thinking about rubber cement attached to a firm piece of plastic which would go underneath of the piece... to hold it steady... any thoughts?

for the back end, use l brackets like someone already stated. i saw a post not too long ago with pics on how he did it, if you search, i'm sure you can find, not sure which section it was in tho. but thats your best bet for fixing the wonderful wave we're prone to get

Pics of mine during the install this past spring. Front was a bitch until I cut down the crush guard to pretty much a shelf and it tapers down to the bottom and slightly toward the sides. Rear is still not perfect. I shoved one of the old side mouldings under it to get some support but is still has a bit. Might expoxy it to the moulding to hold it down later.

The Z24 crush guard is a piece of foam while the regular Cavs have a plastic honeycomb
that's funny, my z has the plastic honeycomb and i'm pretty sure many others do as well

95-99 js = foam
00+ = honeycomb i dont think Z24 matters
I pulled the front bumper off a '97 Z24 and it had foam, same as a '98. My '98 Sedan has the honeycomb and I saw the honeycomb on a '01 Sedan at the same Pick-n-Pull. Apparently, it doesn't matter as you can have either one
Mine were honey comb fo sho. Tho I have read 99 and older may be foam.
basically when installing that kit for the rear i had to install L-brackets under it like others have said and i also dirlled 4 counter sunk holes across the wave and used counter sunk rivits then smothed it out with bondo or you can use fiber glass jelly. that should do it... i also had to use counter sunk holes and screws for the side panals on the door.... i don't recomend using just the double side m-3 tape ....
