Ok, I purchased Eric Foreman's(Custom J a.k.a Whitecavalier01) HID kit off a lexus is300. I'm tryin to install it on my cav but i seem to keep having problems. The bulb is only a low beam bulb, so I spliced into the stock harness and took the low beam blue wire, and connected it to the power, and the pink(ground) from the stock harness to the black(ground) on the hid.
Every time I try and turn them on, I blow a fuse in my fuse box. Is there something I"m doing wrong?
ALSO, when I hook it up to my high beam power, and turn my brights on, IT WORKS JUST FINE? which is continues to confuse me.
some specs...
The hid’s are HELLA ballasts that lexus uses.
The bulbs that are used are d2r’s or d2s’s
PLEASE HELP
seriously anyone..i need lights by tonight i plan to go to a show tomorrow!!!

sounds like they are drawing too much power from the low beam. if they work on the high beam wire, id use that...then again, im not that big an electrical guy, lol, so not sure what the effects would be
damn i was hoping you got it figured out after i left last night. i guess if it works fine on highs just do that.. being there only 1 beam i guess it wouldnt really matter. but if u can deal with the blue light on all the time go for it. is the fuse for the lows smaller the then highs? if so thats prolly ur problem but i dont know if i would want to put a bigger fuse in there, may cause wire problems

I would use the idea Dr Paul had that you use a relay to switch them on. You run a wire from the fuse box(that wire that adds power is a good place to put it) and a ground wire to the relay, and then you just use the low beam power wire to flip the relay on and off. No High beam light on all the time, and forgot to add put a fuse in there on that power wire so you don't melt anything.
Just look up Dr Pauls thing.
im having problems with my HID. there Xentec lightning. i just plug them in. but nothing. so i switch the power teminal on the harness. still nothing. and whats the blue wire do on the 9007 HIDz light bulb itself .it just came with a box. i dont know if it has the igniter or somthing. i keep blowing 30 amp fuses when i barbly put a fuse in, on the driver side fuse box. its a 2002 cavy. any help please!
ok. this is what it came with.
