03 Sunfire Wire Question
Monday, July 09, 2007 2:07 PM
I recently did the front end swap from an 03 Cavalier to an 03 Sunfire... I need to know how to wire up the head light sockets. I did a search and maybe I'm typing in all the wrong key words but I can't find anything and I'm in need of help bad because I need to drive my car to work and back and I havent been able to because I don't have head lights... Can anyone help me out here? Directions or pictures or a chart anything please.

Thank you ahead of time.

There's a sticky at the top of this forum with almost all the information you need. If you have the H9 and H11 pigtails ready, all you'll need to do is cut your 9007 pigtails off. Once they are off you will have 3 wires on each side. There will be two wires that are switched grounds. Pink one should be for high beams, and dark blue for lows (Colors may be different for newer models). The other wire you will need to split off to feed a positive to both of your new pigtails. If you have a voltmeter to help you determine which positive is for high and which is for low then it's an easy job.

If you run into trouble catch me on aim, and I'll be glad to help. (I've done the wiring for this a couple times)

Easy way to find out...

Make sure headlights are on low.

Pull a bulb off the socket. use a test light/multimeter. If using a multimeter, positive to center pin, ground to one of the other 2 pins. When the test light turns on or you get a signal from the multimeter, that outer is the low ground. Other is the high ground. Common power. Splice both powers to the center wire, and one ground to each side as appropriate. (same thing Shadowfire posted, just worded a bit differently)

Oh, and if you can't get H9 sockets, there is a way to modify the bulb seat to fit the H11's
