So I'm about to pick up a 00+ front with lip, but the tabs are broken off. I was thinking of molding the lip onto the bumper, but have no clue on what to use. I've done the occasional bondo/glass for the all too common dash bezel, you know little things like that, and they've held up nicely. But I've never had to mold plastic to plastic, so I was wondering what the steps are to accomplishing this....or is there anyway to attach the lip to the bumper with no tabs??? lol I dunno....
Thanks

i wouldnt use fiberglass or filler at all personally.
i would start by panel bonding the lip onto the bumper . using either 3M panel bond, or Fusor 147(i think its model 147). then use a 3m plastic filler to seam the edges. but no matter what you use/do, it probably wont hold up for more then a few years
i would also use rivots when panel bonding for added strength

yes pop rivit when you panel bond. it will help hold everything together.
may i suggest this, first thing is to properly indentify the type of plastic it is yes panle bond sticks to even the most stubborn plastic like PP but still ya need to identify the plastic
inside the plastic you will see the ISO code then you will know the plastic, TPE,TEO,TPE,PP, are offlein thermo plastic and reuire a adhseshion promoter
i suggest this, plastic welding using wire mesh supplied with the welder you can also pick it up at local body shop supplier, rivets will show through with in a few months, i do like 3m and fusor but ya need the adheshion promoter for the out side of the plastic before you apply the material and you will also need the applicator gun for the tubes which is not cheap and neither is the material
or just send it to me for a small fee
can i haz bondo
