Custom trunk lid
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 2:42 PM
Hello i have notice on some some custom cavs/sunfire's have a custom trunk lid . Meaning they are complety molded to the car, except for the top half. Where they have made their own trunk opening. I'm just woundering if anyone has pictures or a guide on how to do this custom trunk job. More or less how to relocate the locking mech.

its just a matter of being a good fabricator. once you have the back half smoothed and all then you can just use the stock latch and relocate it. not to hard if you know what your doing. just a matter of welding brackets and bolts in

which is exactly what it looks like in the purple one pictured.
or else something like how a hood would open, that way if you used the trunk popper it would'nt fly up and instead catch so it can be unlatched just like a hood
