Okay so i painted my car. just the base coat so far. i guess i didnt have my gun set right. my problem is that in some areas its a little rough. and it looks like i have some orange peel. i know orange peel is normal. my question is do i have to wet sand to get it smooth before i clear coat it. or will the clear coat take care of this problem? and if i do need to wet sand before c/c then should i use 1200 grit or what? as long as i get my gun set right first.
i went to school for collision and repair but never had this problem. and this is the first car i have painted on my own.
what do you think i did wrong? i know that my spray technique is right we practiced that alot. or maybe i just need more practice. we also used really good paint also. im pretty sure i just dont have my gun set right.
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks,
nick
could be a bad setting or moisture in the air line. possibly even oil from other tools.
cant really tell ya without seeing. any chance you can get a pic?
Built Not Bought
maybe it was too hot and the paint was drying before or as it hit the car?
