I got my bumper already painted like 3 times.. long story short theyve "prepped" to the best of there ability.. Theyve bondo'd it.. glassed it.. I dont know wut to do theres this spot on my bumper that will NOT STOP body shop doesnt want to deal with it anymore says i need a new bumper it keeps producing oil.. any patch ideas?
well for starters...they're puting body filler and fiberglass on URETHANE. secondly find a shop that is competant. id like to hear more details of the whole situation, but sounds to me like your shop has no clue on what they are doing.

im sure i could pay several hundred dollars to have someone fix it.. which im not going to do .. thats why i post here. it is not incrediably rare to put bondo on urethane.. if its just to smooth things out
i can finally see the pics now...(was at work and couldnt view them)
so what did they actually do there? put fiberglass/filler to stop "oils" from coming out??
or was there a crack or something there?

you dont bondo urathane. Urathane moves and bends, bondo doesn't. You really need to find a better shop that knows what their doing next time. If the paints not stickin to the bumper, you take a spray (forgrt that name of it) that creates a sticky surface on the bumper spray rpimer sealer on the bumper to seal iit. Then primer it again if you want to, then paint and clear. Done my entire kit that way and nothing has flaked off.
its not about painting a body kit my bumper for some odd reeason has some kind of defect in it, whether something was spilt there before i dont know its just in the same spot over and over. I bought the car used so it could be anything. theyve glassed it and bondo'd both
im aware that urethane is flexible its not how to paint a body kit its more complex then that
either way bondoing and fiberglassing was freeking stupid. you cant fiberglass OR bondo urethane. they need to use special stuff to fix it. its something called problem plastic repair. made by 3M
Looks to me like there's wayyyy too much body filler on there... too thick. So when the plastic flexes, the filler does not, thus cracks again and again.
A VERY small amount of body filler is ok... for example if you have a little tiny mark in your bumper like someone was holding a nail and hit your bumper (not going through the bumper of course..., i'm talking about a divet smaller than a pin head). Granted the appropriate plastic repair is ALWAYS better though.
I don't think it has anything to do with oils... looks more like I said... there's a thick layer of body filler on there that keeps cracking because the plastic is flexing way more than the body filler does.
its the actual bumper that is cracking.. originally it had no filler.. and it still cracked.. it was just the bumper and primar/base/clear it ripped it right off...
so why didnt they fix it correctly the first time?

people the bumpers are not polyurathene!!!!! if this is a plastic bumper, its no wonder why its cracking bondo doesnt stick to it and to much of a product that is not made for plastic iam shocked that it only did what it did
iam sure there is no iso code to identify the type of plastic it is, iam sure its a offlien type plastic that needs a adheshion protmoter for anything to stick to it
if this si a fiberglass bumper its pretty simple to fix, so apprently the techs in that shop dont know @!#$ on a repair let alone repairing plastic
or you could send it to me and i wold be glad to fix it for a small fee
can i haz bondo
cost me more to send it then its worth haha.. the paint sticks to it pefect.. along with the skirts and rear.. its specifically the front. something is not right i think u guys r missing the point and not reading it all.. granted they shouldnt of glased or bondo'd much but its likethe actual bumper that is peeling and u can see some kind of oily @!#$ on it no matter how much u rub or sand it off i can scratch my nail on it and its like oily

Missing the point and not reading it all? Maybe we're missing some info... I have never in my life heard of a plastic bumper magically producing oil repeatedly over and over again... so I don't know what it is exactly you want from us. You've had 2 auto body/paint techs try to troubleshoot your problem as best as we can from looking at pictures on the internet. Maybe your shop does know what they're doing and you do need a new bumper
in 15 yrs i never seen a plastic bumper ozzing oil from it, maybe she is right and ya need a new bumper, or have the shop send it out to be stripped and start over
can i haz bondo
oozing oil is a little extreme.. im going to see wut happends sanding it down alot.. and putting adhesion spray or w/e on it first will do. its mostly the 120+ heat that makes the paint ripple up.. i can have it in my garage forever. once that sun beats on it for 2 day it just rips right up..
stripping it down and then using adhesion promoter might be a good idea

Who did you get that bumper from? I sold my kit to QBE and mine had problem there before it was painted.
