Spiderwebs in clear coat
Sunday, September 16, 2007 7:05 PM
Hey all. I tried searching, but coulldnt quite find what I was looking for.

I dont neccecarily have scratches in the clear coat (theres a few on the car, but im not yet concerned with them)

What should I do, or is there a way that doesnt involve going to a bodyshop, to get rid of the spiderwebs in the clear on my car?

Its an '02 cav, and hasnt been repainted or anything (dont know if that makes a difference). The paint is smooth when its waxed and everything, but you can still see the webs about a day afterwards.

What can I do to get these buggers out?

any help Is appreciated. Thanks!

did you try buffing it too?

horsepower is the force that determines at what speed you hit the wall, torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it.

If wet sanding and buffing it out won't get rid of them, it needs to be repainted

you're planning on wet sanding it too right? Just buffing won't do much of anything

crows feet, spider webbing, is caused by solvnets not driing enough and putting material on to wet. ya sure it wasnt repainted if so then ya need to take it back to them
sometimes wet sanding and buffing on rare instances will help but it wont repair the problem only sanding the part back down and repainting

can i haz bondo

im going to get it repainted anyhow after i get a lip kit for it. Im just trying to get the little defects out to make it look as perfect as possible right now.

i think i might stick to washing and waxing for now. its not noticible unless youre up close.

thankyou for youre help tho guys i do appreciate it!
