CF Hoods

Anyone out there know a Carbon Fiber hood company thats has pics on the internet, that makes hoods for early Sunfires. I have a 97, and I'm trying to map out what I wan't the car to look like, but I can't find anything on the net for the life of me. Besides lowering the car, once I have a CF hood on the car, the exterior will be pretty much done. I'm mainley looking for a CF hood thats funtionally vented to help keep underhood temps down, but isn't too agressive looking at the same time. If anyone knows of a company with pics of any CF hoods for my car at all, that would be great, someone that sells what I'm looking for would be awsome.

I wouldn't ask this, but I just can't find anything, and I've been looking for awhile.... thanx guys (and girls).

^^ yea, but I kinda wan't to check pricing and fiqure out where I'll actually buy one from too, so I kinda need to find someone that sells them as much or more than what the hood will look like.

I'm kinda weary of Ebay, and was hoping maybee someone that has one on there Sunfire could reccomend a comapny that makes decent hoods, that either has a web page or I could at least order a catalog from.

^^ I could only find a Fiberglass ram air hood on their site, I'm looking for Carbon Fiber, and not ram air. Which is too bad because I could drive there and pick one up.

Maybee I'll find something eventually.

VIS makes OEM, Invader, and Evo style C/F hoods for your car also.

Just search sunfire c/f hood in the members registry here.

^^^ They make them, it's just that no one really buys them. I've finally found some CF hoods (all made by VIS btw)

All anyone seems to make in carbon fiber for sunfires is oem style, evo, and invader.

I don't like evo hoods on anything but evos, and I'm not sure if an invader hood would look OK on a sunfire without a body kit..... so I'm kinda leaning torwards oem.

I don't want the car too look riced out.... I'm actually planning on CF for the lighter weight more than anything, plus I love the way carbon fiber pieces look on a black car.

Do you guys think a carbon fiber invader hood would look OK on a black 97 Sunfire SE 2-door (in my sig), with an otherwise stock body, or do ya think it would just throw the lines of the car off?

For some reason I can't picture it in my head.

^^^^^ Ohhhh pretty... it thats carbon fiber? If they make that hood for my car, I know where I'll be getting one when the times comes. Thats actually pretty much what I wan't.

The hood in the pic looks like it's for a 350Z or something.

sam, if you want to know what the invader hood looks like with stock bumpers, i can take a pic in a couple weeks when i put my car back to stock for winter. i'll just save the hood swap for last and snap a quick pic.

^^ Sweet, thanx Tony.. I didn't know you did that. I've been meaning to ask you if you have ever had problems with snow finding it's way through your hood vent in the winter, but If you swap the hood every time, you might not know. If I put another hood on my car thats a concern I have.

It will be next spring at the soonest anyway, I don't see the point of doing it before winter even if I have the money.
