wiring is too involved. lol, you have to pull the wiring out of the old trunk and put into the new one.

very true.. but .. thats more of replacing the current wire onto the new trunk lid..

dont let this fool you .. if you can put two legos together then you can swap trunks haha

and....

you have to swap the trunk locks too.

in case you have one and may need to use the key.

so it's not quite as simple as putting two lego bricks together.........

I had no idea what I was doing and it took me about 45 minutes . . . mainly cause I couldn't figure out how to get the clip off holding in the lock, LOL. once I got that off, I was done in less then 10 minutes, lol.

Its 4 bolts . . . Swapping the whole wiring harness over to the new trunk,, swapping inner tail lights, plugging everything back in, putting back on the lock, and lining up the trunk right before you bolt it down. Thats it.

not sure what your trying to do but one thing might apply that you may want to keep in mind...

If you car doesn't have a spoiler form the factory then it has the 3rd brake light in the rear window... if you have the third brake light in the window and you swap on a trunk with a spoiler and it has the 3rd brake light in the spoiler its illegal to have both lights working... You can't have both 3rd brake lights working but you have to have one.

Just a warning, its a lesser knwon law but I know 100% for sure it applies to IL (me)

ive never heard about that? i see cars with both the deck lid/spoiler break lights working all the time (in NH). I wonder if its one of those laws they cant pull you over for, but they can give you a ticket if they stop you for something else.

Seems to me, when applying that to safety thoughts, the more the merrier. More light out back is just more warning for bad conditions.

it is a law, rarely enforced though, like where I live, you can have neon underlighting, inside lights, movies playing from a in dash dvd player and they'll ticket you when they want to
