hot to make a convert?

Just wondering What makes the convertible Structure different form a regular coupe? I was looking to eventually (later down the road)cut the top off and shorten the windshield. I know that there has to be some reinforcement made to the actual car , but i have no clue of where to start. looking for someone who has a convertible and has a idea of what is reinforced in their car so i can do it to my coupe when the time comes

There are approx. 75 different braces and panels that are welded in all the way from the rocker panels to the top of the windshield. And from the firewall to the rear wheel wells.

I have a Service Manual "Convertible Supplement" that's about 100 pages of all the braces and how to make adjustments on the doors, top etc.

It'd be easier to start with a vert. and go from there.
