Thought about talking to a body shop or custom shop about putting US glass into the panels?
Im Jealous
I CANT find 2 door mirrors ANYWHERE!
listening....
and matt linke...i found 2 door mirros, on ebay, for CHEAP! sorry man. acutally if you want me to give you the name of the guy i bought them from maybe you can get a hold of him and he can find you a set.
I dont know anything about wiring Toyo mirrors, no... but I'm sure theres a tutorial on JBO that shows what to do. -- and wiring itself is pretty easy.
I will help you when you get them. No Problem.
wouldnt they be the same size as us cav mirrors. if the glass is the same, just pick up replacement glass for a us cav and switch em.
well i got a good friend that is a glass man and he said he would charge me somewhere well i don't totally remember but it def. was 40 or less on each or maybe it was both.
i would love a set for my cav
Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be... If you rely on your side view mirrors so much to keep you from getting into car accidents, you shouldn't be driving at all.
If anything, the problem w/ the mirrors is the driverside mirror is angled towards you a little more than the passenger side.. Basically causing you to adjust the driverside mirror all the way out, and the passenger side all the way in... It will still be the same way with US glass installed.
I would suggest bolting the mirrors up to your car w/o wiring them and going for a drive to see how "bad" it is...
^^he was just saying with the toyota mirrors in order for you to see through decently your going to have to have them aimed out or in as far as possible..
when he said "It will still be the same way with US glass installed."
pretty sure he meant if u get the mirrors replaced like US glass that they will be the same way. i dont see how that is but im pretty sure thats what he meant instead
I have a piece of mirror waiting on me to cut it and swap it onto my toyo mirror. Guess it would be a good time for me to do it. The toyo mirrors really aren't that bad. Only thing that really bothers me about mine is the convex mirror on the driver's side so it looks like things are farther behind you than they actually are.
Im saying..
Its not the glass that makes you have the mirrors adjusted all the way in or out- Its the angle of the mirror housing itself....
They are designed for right hand drive obviously- so the driverside mirror is angled more towards the car.. Causing you to adjust the glass all the way out, so you can see behind you.. Follow?
The passenger side mirror is angled farther away from the car, so for that side- you have to adjust the glass all the way in to see properly.
I don't know if the US mirrors are angled at all- never really noticed.
I don't know how much you're gonna be paying to put US glass in there, but it's really not bad at all w/ the toyo glass in there.. Give it 2 weeks w/ the toyo mirrors and you won't even notice.
i didnt have a problem with mine. it was odd at first but then you just get use to it
It is the glass that bothers most ppl. Yes you do have to adjust them all the way in or out due to the angle of the mirrors, but it is the convex mirror on the drivers side that throws you off. Convex mirrors distort what you see so that you can see more.
Wikipedia wrote:The passenger-side mirror on a car is typically a convex mirror. In some countries, these are labeled with the safety warning "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear", to warn the driver of the convex mirror's distorting effects on distance perception.
Your eyes do adjust and you do get used to having this on the drivers side just as most people's eyes are already adjusted to convex mirrors on the passenger side.
do what i did with my stock ones..... put a little wide angle mirror in the corner of the mirror....... i love it actually
