Convert 95-99 side markers to turn signals?
Friday, November 23, 2007 1:05 PM
Hi,
I was considering making some changes to a stock 95-99 front bumper (you can read about it here), and I was also wondering if it would be possible to convert the small side markers beside the headlight into regular turn signals. They are circled here in red:

I was considering a change to projector headlights, but I think that kind would look better if the turn signals were integrated into the headlight assembly. Any thoughts that might be helpful?

sure, small bulb or LED, drill out the back, mount the bulb/LED with silicone and wire it upto your current blinkers

done

ya they are already turn signals on my 99 sedan. they alternate on and off between the bumper and the side corners.

you might wanna check your bulbs there probably burnt out, i see alot of cavaliers with them burnt out, i believe its a 194 bulb, also the one piece projector headlights would be integrated into the headlight already lol

Sorry - I don't have a Cavalier handy to check.
I had a '95 sedan that I sold a while back (and man, it was one tough little car!), but now I'm thinking about getting a 2 door coupe. Knowing me though, I can't leave stuff alone.
I'm curious to know if installing an LED would be sufficient legally. I know some can be very bright, but are there some sort of rules that would apply to the change? No use doing it if the inspection station is going to make me change it all back just to get it to pass. As you can see from the mock-up picture, I'd like to do away with the turn signals on the bumper corners entirely, and all the signal duties would fall on that corner light alone.
The projector headlights I've been seeing so far do not have the turn signals integrated into the assembly... could you point out some where they are? Maybe I've just been looking in the wrong place. It would be nice to just replace the whole thing and be done! Thanks.

LEDs' should be legal. how dumb would it be to get a ticket for something small like that.
they ARE 194 bulbs which you can get an LED to replace.

^look at Anton Millers sig. he has the one-piece headlights. that's where the turn signals are integrated.
regular projectors CAN be purchased with the corners to match, where you just put the LED bulb into
