Just a question, I'm putting my car back to stock, and i'm getting the bumpers and sides painted, but i was wondering, is there any real easy way to remove the door strikes without ruining the strikes, AND the paint? The person before me used some sort of adhesive, but i don't know how i would get it off without having to get the doors repainted as well.
Thanks for the info

possibly the same way you remove normal stock door strikes?????? some fishing line... a hot air gun... some goo gone....
hm, it doesn't really look like something you would use to hold body work onto a car though.
Unfortunately, i think it might be gorilla glue or something of the sort. Maybe caulk?
but ill be out there this weekend trying to get it off with a hot air gun.

Theres an indentation for 3M Super Strength Panel Tape on the back of the sides and strikes, so you put tape it in and it holds great.. and very strong, so hopefully its just that holding on and feels really strong...
Mine was on really good when I had to take it off and the fishing line, or pulling on it will take it off then use goo gone to get excess tape off and it should come off pretty easily..
Good Luck !

I need a set of RK Sport Type J door strikes. Let me know if you want to sell them seperately if they are in good shape when you get them off.

A warning though regardling the Type-J skirts, I've seen this on my own car and many others where the indented vertical "swoosh" is on the back of the skirts rubs up against the quarter panel and ruins the paint in that spot.
So look for that when you remove the skirts themselves.
if you have a drill, 3m makes a rubber eraser wheel for taking off residue like that.
so much help
Thanks guys, it is much appreciated!
Mennitti, ill let you know how they come!
