My door is clankin every time I go over a bump. Especially now that I have the pro-kit/agx. So I have to put new door hinges in. has anyone done this? whats all involved?
remove your doors... you'll have to pop off the door panel and feed any electronics through.... then you can either unbolt the door from the frame... or unbolt the door from the hinge... usually helps if you remove the front fender... so when I say remove your doors.. it's the same process you'll need to go through..... you might even be able to get away with not removing the door completely (not having to remove the electrical)... you could have someone support the door as you replace the hinges.... just make sure they are level and bolt them back exactly as they were sitting originally or else you'll have some major alignment issues

When i changed the hinges on my 96' i just unbolted the door from the hinge and then the hinge from the body. I set the rear corner of the door on a block of wood and had my dad hold the door out of the way while i worked.
An alternate method of dealing of dealing with door hinges was suggested to me when I installed lambos on my Sunfire.
I used padded cargo straps wrapped around the vehicle through the windows to secure the doors in place. After removing the front fenders, hinges and bolts are exposed and can be easily removed and replaced.
By doing the job in this way you eliminate supporting the doors during removal & installation, realigning them and prevent chips when replacing them. It becomes a one man task.
It is easier to align fenders than doors.
