I know you HAVE to have them on your car(at least where I live)
But do they have to be on your trunk/bumper?

A friend of mine said they'd shave my trunk for me.
But where do I put the reverse lights?


I was thinking of modifying the third brake light into a reverse light, would that work?

that would work... however you have to look into the traffic laws in your area... I know that my area it's illegal to remove the third brake light... seems like you might be SOL your state does not allow you to change any of your brake lights to other lights as per the below...

Well what would happen if my car came with a 3rd light in the spoiler,
and I removed the spoiler, or it was damaged and had to be removed?


Well, where do most people move the reverse lights to when they shave the trunk?
Or do they just hope they don't get caught.

taking the 2200 out of the cavy and throwing it into the sunfire, taking the 3100 out of my friends GrandAm and throwing it into the cavy. XD Definatly a work in process...

check your local laws for what you can/cant do to your rear lights.

if you want to shave, i say go for it. there are tons of easy fixes for this. if youve got a 3rd brake light on your spoiler, you could convert that to reverse and get the rear deck from a base model cav and use that for the brake light. or get the deck and do the opposite.

you could get a 95-99 (i think) sunfire sedan rear bumper and put it on your car. that has a place for a reflector/reverse light in the bumper.

or you could get 00 toyo tails and use the outer, clear portion (meant for turns) for reverse lights.

I know the trunk from a sedan 95-99(02?) will fit a 95-99(02?) Cavalier.

Will the bumper fit as well?
