I understand canada has to have DRL when is it a law in the USA and when do they make it and have vechiles with them?
There are no DRL laws in the US. Most cars have them standard but there are still many that don't. All the GM's have them but not all the Toyota's do. Honda is another that has models without DRL's. Now state inspections are different. In states with emissions laws, the inspection station plugs into the OBD connector and can tell from the BCM what options the car came with and what (if any) safety devices have been bypassed, disconnected or removed. The laws in those states are fuzzy and most inspection stations will fail a car that has a safety device modified. I'd bet a car with the DRL's disabled would fail an inspection in New Jersey or New York.
