Lambo door kit. Need opinons/help.
Monday, April 07, 2008 6:50 PM
hello, all jbodyer's. ok im am looking in like a week or two to purchase a door kit. My dad is trying to convince me to get a 90degree one cause he thinks it would rub and that it be easier to get in. So here comes my problem. I want just lambo. Ok i have done my research and stuff. so dont go all Ape @!#$. I have heard stuff about MMS, but i heard good and bad. seem to work just alot of adjusting. and I heard Vertical Doors inc, good just expensive. and then what about 90 degree ones. the one my dad is looking at is a universal. so im already like no way. but i would like to know if lambo are easy to get into, or is it kinda hard. and would it be better to go with MMS or VDI. or what other company could u recommend. Thanks all for responses. Sean

all the kits you can find are cheep and flimsy, they wave in the wind and if there not cheep they charge a 1st born and a left nut. i'd reamend http://www.scissor-doors.com/ he makes each kit by hand and they are cut with a waterjet also strong as FORK!! life time guarantee and by far the cheepest!

there is a gp on the site for motified motorsports door kits. just finished putting mine on and couldnt be happier. no matter what kit you get, the doors are going to wave in the wind... the doors are huge and act like sails.

i had a MMS kit on my old car..loved it...yea it waved in the wind, and it took some adjusting, but for the money, totally worth it. A buddy of mine has VDI's on his cav, and comparing them, they honestly were about the same..except his were a lot more money. BUT, after having them on a daily driver, beware, it gets old quick. The door will still open about 3/4 of the way (which you can also adjust), then you can choose to put the door up or not...but its a cool experience man, you'll definately get a lot of funny looks.

now did the MMS require any modifcations beside just adjusting. and also i mean is it hard to get in and out, cause i already kinda roll out of mine sometimes cause im tired from working out and my car is low so, i really dont think i will mind but yeah. and what about 90degree ones and are universal any good or not worth the hassle.

you shouldnt have any major problems. i had to grind down my passenger side hinge a bit in order to make it work, but it was 5 min with a dremel. it is a direct bolt on kit, so take off the old hinges, put on the new and you are done.

as for the getting in and out, its not a hassle, as long as you get out of the car feet and not head first ( a couple of my friends have trouble in the back seat )

I have jt aero kit I recommend stayin away from them, mms I have heard good things about, I wish i could sell mine for half of what i have in to them for the mms kit,but oh well . as far as the unversal kits there not bad just have the door as tight as you can before you weld the kit on also nice because with that kit you can pos. the degree of the door anywhere you like. you have to ask yourself if you if you want bolt on or weld on weld on takes a lot more to get off then bolt on. also have to agree with statement above on a dd it gets old real fast

i dunno. ive had mine on for a while now and am thuroghly enjoyingh it. although i have to admit i cheat. the MMS kit opens like a normal door too, so its up to how tired i am and how many looks i want as i get out of the car.

I have the MMS, but I also have them on a daily driver. I kinda wish I didnt put them on my daily, but I love them. Too bad I'm removing them soon.

Why remove them? My doors swing open normally enough on my dd. When i want to get looks/attention, THAT is when the doors go up.
