can carbon fiber painted? im asking because the fiberglass rk sport has a hood scoop and the only oem style hood is carbon fiber and my hood is going to needed to be replaced soon .
thank you so much. does it have sanded before painted?
i would believe so.... best bet is to take it to a local body shop.... CF is expensive... are you looking for a weight loss or just the oem look?
you paint it just like you would fiberglass
cf is meant to be painted. if your looking to get a replacement hood and the only oem hood you can find is a cf one that you plan on painting anyway, why not just get a hood froma junkyard and toss it on. it will save you alot of money.

That's exactly what I was thinking.... why is your hood going to need to be replaced soon?? it would definitely be cheaper to either refinish your existing hood or pick up one from a junker
Its because my hood has been taking beating it has dings from acorns and pebbles. i
was hopping if i painted a carbon fiber one. it would look oem and would not ding
dont park it under the tree park it in the garage

a carbon hood can get damaged just as easily as a metal hood. the only difference is that you might be able to fix any cracks in the painted c/f hood by yourself versus not being able to fix the dents in your hood.
My first question what kind of acorns do you have where you live that are dinging your hood? Or are your trees just really tall?
Your right though a CF hood won't dent, it will crack.
Sure can paint them....mine was starting to dull and fade aroudn the edges so I took it to a local shop and had it painted...
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
