Wondering if anyone here might have access to a convertible top for a J. I need the piece in the back that comes with the glass...mine has come apart and the only local people I can find that can repair it want $800 to $1000 bucks.....I just don't have that kind of cash....unless someone wants to buy the damn turbo kit I've been trying to sell for 2 years....
thanks for reading

i believe he has sold the seals and i am getting one piece of the frame for the top....but the top itself is still for sale
edit: i had a top for sale, but it was sans the part that had the glass in it. sold it on ebay about two weeks ago.

the part inside the red is what I need. I have a black top now...so if you have a black top that would be awesome...if not, I can always dye it like we did with the current part
thanks

his top is white, but like you said you can dye it kilo. yours looks like its in good condition (unless thats an old pic) what exactly is wrong with it?
biggs: to take that part off youll pretty much have to pull your whole top. its not too fun of a process, but you were going to have to do it for someone else......know what i mean? im not sure how it is attached to the top part (above the window) but the bottom is held on with a ton of staples behind the black strip that goes around the bottom of the top as well as a few 10mm bolts on the inside drip rail that the top sits in above the trunk. if you run into any problems when pulling it, im sure i can help you out so drop me a line.

Yeah, that's an old pic...probably 4 or 5 years old to be exact. Basically the whole bottom of the window is no longer being held in by the canvas piece around it so there is a huge hole below the back glass now.

i heard you could use the adhesive they use to seal the windshield on that part and that it would fix the sag. but you should still buy biggs' just in case im wrong
The section you have in the pic, mine is in good shape,I'll load up pics in a few.I did use some adhesive on the stitching that goes all the way aroud the window but only a few 1-2" sections. But I see what you need though.BTW I learned never to use bleach white on a white canvas top....it eats the stiching, lol

Small areas where the glass has separated from the vinyl can be repaired with windshield sealer.
I needed the full rear window section, as you do, when the glass shattered.
I was quoted a price of $389 for an Electron replacement by a local top shop.. Suggested retail was $324 based on an online search of the Electron price list. The installation quote was $200..
In a stroke of good luck, I found a new Electron piece for $15 on E-Bay. I paid the installation cost and saved $369.
