Help me by helpin my hood

Can anyone suggest anything about my hood? It's been clear coated once already and looks like this. Can anyone suggest anything? It's still kinda cloudy and chalky looking. Also gets streaky looking as well. I dont know what it is but it's driving me nuts.

Its carbon fiber get used to it or paint it. It does it no matter what, clear coat just slows it down.

GM worked with Dupont I think? to develop a paint for this on the new ZR1 because the roof is CF and they say it completely stops the cloudiness but its crazy expensive for the public to buy.

The only true way to not have this happen, is to

A) not have ur carbon hood cleared, but this would make it dull and even worse, and you cant take the clear off once its there with out damagin fibers
B) paint it.

I worked with carbon for years in the military, and we had the problem with certain area that were cleared. the areas that were just painted like normal look fine, but the areas where clear was would cloud and look horrible. It has to do with the reaction of the resin, and the gelcoat/clearcoats that have been used...I have the EVo hood on mine, and when it starts to look bad im just going to get it color matched with a translucent paint, so the fibers can still be seen, but the haziness and cloudiness wont be visiable...

no.....youre thinking of the stuff that GM is using on the zr1.

we are talking about doing it like snazzi's hood. you mix base coat into the clear, giving it a colored tint. spray it on all at once and you will have a bluish appearance from far away and you will be able to see the fibers of the c/f when up close.
